I min kunstneriske praksis…

I min kunstneriske praksis undersøger jeg forholdet mellem lys, skygge, rum og materialer med afsæt i notationer, landskab og arkitektur. Jeg arbejder med flere medier, bl.a. skulptur, grafik, fotografi og installation, og anvender industrielle materialer og materialer fundet i naturen, herunder sten, træ, og glas. Gennem en procesbaseret intuitiv tilgang – baseret på håndværksmæssigt kendskab til bl.a. støbning og træarbejde – søger jeg en materialefølsomhed, hvor form, balance og komposition opstår i dialog med materialernes historie. Jeg er inspireret af antik filosofi, der omhandler det geometriske i landskaber og natur.

Jeg er inspireret af Paul Klees og Per Kirkebys arbejde med notationer, skitsebøger samt fortolkning af landskaber og transformationen mellem det todimensionelle og tredimensionelle.
Mine værker viser forgængelighed, spor og transformation. Reliefværker og skulpturer fremstår skrøbelige og balancerer mellem konstruktion og objet trouvé som undersøgelser af det fysiske og tankemæssige rum. Inspirationen fra ruiner og klassisk arkitektur – med fokus på rum, skala og kroppens møde med værket – er central og kommer til udtryk i både grafiske serier og rumlige arbejder.

I de seneste år har jeg arbejdet med grafik og fotogravure. I trykkene Notation (lys) 01-12 2025, udarbejdet på Statens Værksteder for Kunst, undersøges lys som et rumligt fænomen oversat til geometriske strukturer, hvor arkitektur og abstraktion mødes. Kombinationen af koldnålsradering og akvatinte udforsker forholdet mellem præcision, tilfældighed og dybde.

In my artistic practice, I investigate the relationship between light, shadow, space and materials based on notations, landscape and architecture. I work with several media, including sculpture, graphics, photography and installation, and use industrial materials and materials found in nature, including stone, wood and glass. Through a process-based intuitive approach – based on craftsmanship knowledge of, among others, casting and woodworking – I seek a material sensitivity, where form, balance and composition arise in dialogue with the history of the materials. I am inspired by ancient philosophy, which deals with the geometric in landscapes and nature.

I am inspired by Paul Klee’s and Per Kirkeby’s work with notations, sketchbooks and interpretation of landscapes and the transformation between two-dimensional and three-dimensional. My works show transience, traces and transformation. Relief works and sculptures appear fragile and balance between construction and objet trouvé as investigations of physical and intellectual space. The inspiration from ruins and classical architecture – with a focus on space, scale and the body’s encounter with the work – is central and is expressed in both graphic series and spatial works.

In recent years I have worked with graphics and photogravure. In the prints Notation (lys) 01-12 2025, produced at the Statens Værksteder for Kunst, light is examined as a spatial phenomenon translated into geometric structures where architecture and abstraction meet. The combination of cold-point etching and aquatint explores the relationship between precision, randomness and depth.
